History

 

  • 1977
    Indatec was founded by Christoph Geissler and his father.
    Focus on industrial electronics, data transfer techniques and academic research
  • 1986
    Since that year dedicated to the point of sale industry for the restaurant (and hospitality) market
    • OEM manufacturer and software provider for Sanyo (Japan) until 1995
    • OEM provider for Sharp, Mannesmann-Kienzle and various others
    • Developed own peripherals for central European market (thermal printers and transponder waiter locks)
  • 1995
    Sanyo cancels contract (last production1996) and regroups worldwide production in Japan
    • Indatec decides to produce own line of products in December
  • 1997
    • Inka 100 is introduced in March on the Cebit
    • Inka 200 is introduced in November
    • direct network of 250 cash register dealers in Germany
  • 1998
    Inka Software is refined and even more sales efforts are deployed
  • 1999
    • Indatec surpasses production of 2000 terminals per year in the German market
    • Benelux Micros distributor signs Indatec distribution contract
  • 2000
    • Inka 300 Touchscreen unit presented in March (Cebit) and released in Nov
    • Austrian Micros distributor signs Indatec distribution contract
    • In the summer Micros-Fidelio starts discussion with Indatec to explore mutual beneficial cooperation possibilities
    • In December Micros-Fidelio receives Board approval to acquire all of the outstanding shares and assets of Indatec
  • 2001
    Feb. 1, 2001 - Indatec becomes a 100% owned subsidiary of Micros-Fidelio
